Austin-based guitarist and songwriter Jonny Lurie creates a genre bending style of music that blends groove-heavy instrumentals with lyrical songwriting. Performing both as a solo live-looping artist and with a full band, Lurie offers two distinct live experiences.

In his solo sets, he builds songs in real time using live looping—layering acoustic and electric guitars, and drums into immersive one-man-band performances. With his band, his music expands into a blues/ funk/ rock sound shaped by groove, improvisation, and expressive guitar work.

Originally starting on violin before gravitating toward guitar, Lurie later expanded into bass, songwriting, production and vocals.

Based in Austin’s vibrant music scene, Lurie has performed at esteemed venues such as The Saxon Pub and at the 13th Anniversary festival at Jester King Brewery. Jonny has also been featured on the Stage Door Podcast which is a part of I heart radio.
